Curren is back for another three-week intensive occupational therapy session where we focused on various exercises for proximal strengthening and stability. Here are his exercises: 🐴 iGallop – While lying prone and pushing down, we alternated hands for high fives to cross midline and work on bilateral coordination. 🐰 Bunny Game – By working on proximal strength, we’re able to help him stabilize his base to assist with fine motor tasks. He’s emerging with a grip called digital pronate were he’s using his pointer finger to line things up. Without a stable base, fine motor skills like this become challenging and less accurate. 💪 Arm Bike – Focusing in on getting his shoulder and wrist back, this proximal strengthening exercise works on reciprocal patterns and coordination. Doing this fun activity forces him into alignment to move the arm bike. ⭕ Swing & Ring – This simple exercise offers so many benefits including: vestibular input from the swing, hand eye coordination to look at and get a ring and place it on the pole, grasping the ring, weight bearing through his arms, and bilateral coordination because he has to stabilize with one hand and reach with the other. 🛹 Scooter Board – lying prone on a scooter board strengthens shoulders and core to work toward his proximal strength and it helps with motor planning and coordination. Plus, it encourages focus and attention with the combination of a physical activity and sensory input.Amazing job Curren! 💪 Ready for your kiddo to embark on a path of crushing goals? 📲 321-255-6627 to set up your consultation! #intensivetherapy #intensivesuittherapy #suittherapy #therasuit #intensiveot #intensiveoccupationaltherapy #pediatricot #occupationaltherapy #ot #proximal #strength #stability #coordination #vestibular #grasp #finemotor #specialneeds #disabled #kidswithdisabilities #abilitynotdisability #abilityplustherapy | Ability Plus Therapy
